VIDEO INTERVIEW: Author Gaynor Arnold
Gaynor Arnold is a Welsh novelist, who since the 1970s has lived in Birmingham.
Her first novel Girl in a Blue Dress, based on the marriage of Charles Dickens, and published in 2008 by Birmingham’s Tindal Street Press, was longlisted for both the Man Booker Prize 2008 and the Orange Prize for Fiction 2009.
She has written a collection of short stories called Lying Together which was published in February 2011 to much critical acclaim. Her second novel, After Such Kindness, is inspired by the troubled relationship between Lewis Carroll and Alice Liddell.
Gaynor will be speaking at Birmingham Book Festival’s Readers’ Afternoon at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts on 6 October.
